Cedarwood atlas Essential oil Morocco |
Odor Description:mild and woody, with warm and animalic facets The Atlas cedar, a monumental and majestic tree, can grow 40 meters high and over two meters in diameter. The pyramidal shape it takes on when younger changes as the tree ages. Over time, the heavy branches extend horizontally, forming a tree with a flattened top. Cedar has evergreen foliage of dark-green to bluish needles arranged in dense rosettes on short stems. The purportedly rot-impervious wood exudes a delicate, resinous fragrance and is the source of the extracted essential oil. The Atlas cedar is a protected species. The wood used to produce the essential oil comes exclusively from Moroccan sawmills. These businesses, which focus on manufacturing furniture, provide sawdust and trunk shavings for distillation. Atlas cedar essential oil is mild and woody, with warm and animalic facets. |

Cedarwood Atlas |
Odor Description:Balsamic, woody, oriental, floral-cassia & mimosa Arctander tells us that Cedarwood Atlas “essential oil is also known as “Moroccan” Cedarwood Oil. The oil is entirely different—chemically and olfactorily—from the American Virginia or Texas cedarwood oils. The tree, Cedrus Atlantica, is a pine, not a cypress (such as the American and East African cedars). It is believed that the Atlas cedar is originated from the Atlas Cedarwood famous Lebanon cedars which grow wild in Lebanon and in the island of Cyprus, now protected from being felled for essential oil.” |

Cedarwood, Atlas, essential oil, Bulk
Odor: characteristic Use: The oil may be added to a sitz bath and to compresses. It can be added to shampoos or facial washes to reduce oily secretions. The oil helps to clear chronic conditions such as dermatitis and psoriasis. It would make a good hair tonic and effective for treating seborrhoea of the scalp, dandruff and alopecia. Atlas Heart Wood Essential Oil
Odor: characteristic Use: Adam Michael has this to say “Atlas Heart Wood Essential Oil is produced by fractionation which means in this instance that the essential oil (steam distilled from the wood) is rectified by running it through a fractionating column. The fractions are collected and a selection of the woody, leathery, floral and ambery fractions are put together to create this material. |

Cedarwood Atlas Essential Oil
Odor: characteristic Use: Cedarwood atlas is closely related to the biblical Cedar of Lebanon and its therapeutic properties have been recognised since antiquity. Cedar was used by all the ancient civilizations in medicine, cosmetics and perfumery, and by the Egyptians in embalming. The wood itself is very aromatic, due to the high percentage of essential oil it contains, and was used for building and making storage chests, as the odour repels termites, ants, moths and other harmful insects. In common with other aromatic woods, it was widely used as incense. It is still used as temple incense in Tibet (and among Tibetan exiles) as well as having important uses in traditional Tibetan medicine. |
