Helichrysum Abs MD
Odor: characteristic
Use: Joseph Colbourne has this to say “An easily pourable pale gold material of moderate viscosity, this mellifluous, agrestic beauty originates from France through molecular distillation. Helichyrsum Md absolute, also known as Immortelle, opens with mellifluous richness, acacia honey, wildflowers like daisies and black-eyed susans, both scintillating and earthy to the nose. Facets of green flowers, summer meadows, and steeped oolong tea reveal themselves a few minutes in. It further develops into a base of lingering honey, dry woods, and freshly mown hay. Subtle tea and fenugreek overtones lend a sweetly exotic edge to this absolute which captures the spirit of sun-dried everlasting flowers. There is notable tenacity, 24+ hours on the tester strip. Helichrysum can impart a harmonizing effect to citrus, incense, and aromatic blends.”

Everlasting Absolute
Odor: Fruity Alcoholic Herbaceous
Use: Everlasting or "immortelle" is a Mediterranean bush cultivated in Corsica and around the Balkans. The extraction is made from blooming stems once they have been dried. Everlasting has such a particular and aromatic scent that Napoleon used to say he could smell his country even before he would set foot on it.

Helichrysum (Immortelle) Absolute
Odor: characteristic
Use: The earthy, woody, floral aroma of Helichrysum italicum absolute is a great addition to any blend. The semi-viscous, opaque brown absolute is great for natural perfumery. Interestingly, many blenders refer to absolute as Immortelle, while referring to the oil as Helichrysum.

Notes:
Widely known in southern Europe as Immortelle, Everlasting or St. John's Herb is the small plant Helichrysum Angustifoliun. The plant has attracted perfumers for quite some time. It should not be confused with St. John's Wort which is an entirely different plant of no use in perfumery and little use in cosmetic preparations. Blends well with citrus oils, clove bud and derivatives.
