Formulations/Preparations: •medicinal zinc peroxide usp. suspension 25%; 60 ml, 120 ml & 240 ml bottles. to prevent release of oxygen before material is applied, dry activated zinc peroxide is dispensed separately to be added to sterile purified water immediately before use. zinc peroxide may also be used as dusting powder, usually mixed with talcum, or as 25% ointment.
•the peroxide of commerce contains 50-60% zno2, the remainder is zno.
•grades: usp (mixture of peroxide, carbonate & hydroxide), technical 50-60%
•zinc peroxide cream: zinc peroxide 1 g, zinc oxide 5 g, wool fat 2 g, calcium hydroxide soln 1 ml, arachis oil 8 ml. it should be freshly prepared.
