•silver nitrate ophthalmic soln usp is soln of silver nitrate in water medium. it contains 0.95-1.05% of agno3. soln may be buffered by addition of sodium acetate. •silver nitrate of commerce is, with exception of 0.1-0.2% water, practically 100% pure. •grade: technical, cp, usp •small wooden sticks, dipped in toughened silver nitrate, sufficient for 1 application silver nitrate applicators of 3- or 6-inch wooden sticks on which is fused mixture of 75% silver nitrate & 25% potassium nitrate are sometimes used. •phenol & silver nitrate in glycerol: the final injection contains 600 ug of silver nitrate in a 4% soln of phenol in glycerol. •preparations: mitigated silver nitrate: silver nitrate 1 and potassium nitrate 2, fused together and suitable moulded for application as caustic to warts and condylomas. toughened silver nitrate (bp): silver nitrate 95 and potassium nitrate 5, fused together and suitably moulded. toughened silver nitrate (usp): contains not less than 94.5% of silver nitrate, the remainder consisting of silver chloride. creams: silver nitrate cream: silver nitrate, 0.5 or 2%, xalifin-15 20%, water to 100%. eye-drops: oculoguttae argenti nitratis pro neonatis: silver nitrate 670 mg, potassium nitrate 1.2 mg, and water for injections, 98.13 g. silver nitrate eye-drops: silver nitrate 0.5% wv, potassium nitrate 1.3% wv, in soln for eye-drops. ointments: unguentum argenti nitratis compositum: silver nitrate 1% and peru balsam 5 to 10% usually in a basis of yellow soft paraffin or yellow soft paraffin and wool fat. ophthalmic soln: silver nitrate ophthalmic soln (usp): silver nitrate 0.95 to 1.05% in an aq medium. ph 4.5 to 6. it may contain sodium acetate as a buffer. solutions: ammonical silver nitrate solution:silver nitrate 704 g, water 245 ml, and strong ammonia soln to dissolve all but the last trace of precipitate (about 680 ml). solutio argenti nitratis cum tetracaino: silver nitrate 200 mg, amethocaine nitrate 100 mg, and water 99.7 g. •uts silverator water treatment unit, impregnated materials, 0.6240% silver nitrate
